Summer 2019 Unit 2 Letter to the Hebrews

Lesson 8 The Superiority of Jesus

July 21, 2019

Jesus rules supreme over all creation.

The Lesson Overview

Christianity is unique in that we have a resurrected and living Savior we can point to as Creator of all things (see John 1:1–4). Therefore, we can know Him as a loving and compassionate Lord and also exalt Him as supreme over all Creation.

The latter portion of that statement above figures prominently in this lesson, and indeed throughout the Book of Hebrews. As we proceed through the lesson, we are reminded that Jesus is not merely a created spiritual being, like an angel; He is our exalted King, the Lord of our salvation, and our great High Priest. A proper understanding of Jesus is critical in a world that often views spiritual beliefs as relative. This lesson affirms our faith in Jesus as Lord, Savior, and King.
